The Room of Requirement was a wonderful discovery on her part. Especially when it came to wanting to prepare for events when your best friend was from another house. Plus it made getting down to the great hall easier, than trying to push through a dozen Gryffindors in the common room. Plus, she wanted to be a surprise; she knew that Sev wouldn't be able to participate how he wanted. It was a shame because they had been working so hard for the last two months. They deserved some time to themselves, without the pretence of anything else. She sighed at her reflection in the mirror. She was sure Tonks, who was staring at the mirror in concentration, her hair changing colours, was feeling the same. Rose rolled her eyes, "just stick with the pink. Or the brunette, but I'm voting on the pink. Maybe a more elegant coif than the unruly spikes?" Tonks nodded, "good idea. Course you would know, wouldn't you?" Rose smirked, "I may, or may not have my brother's tastes in mind, yes." They shared a giggle. It was a Halloween Masquerade, so not necessarily costumes, but one could get creative, of course. It seemed she and Tonks had taken for more of a pirate theme, as Tonks had chosen to be as skirtless as possible. The dark colour shocking against her bright pink. Rose, however, in an attempt to look as elegant as possible, hair in ringlets and curls, up high; and having no aversion to skirts what so ever, as long as they weren't ballgown length. She hated ballgowns. And also, she somehow favoured brown. Maybe it was her hair colour? Maybe she just thought she looked good in brown. She wasn't sure. But she figured she would save the dark-Slytherin-death-eater ensemble for a later date. She wasn't out to kill Severus tonight, as it were, as it was already bad enough that they wouldn't be able to enjoy the evening. Especially when she would have such a short time of the evening anyway. Full moon, and all. She looked at Tonks, after applying the last bit of lipstick. "Ready?" Tonks gave a smirk and nodded. The stairwells down were thankfully already positioned in a way where they did not have to wait for them to shift. Hogwarts Mystery, that. And they had luckily missed the rush of everyone headed to the great hall - fashionably late, they would call it. They pushed open the doors of the great hall to be met with the smell of food, pumpkin, and, Rose shuddered as she looked up at the enchanted ceiling, a full moon. Thanks, Hogwarts. For the reminder. Jerk. "Wanna mingle?" Rose asked, "see if Charlie actually is as bling as he is?" " Yes," Tonks said, snickering. And they weaved their way through the students, unaware of a pair of dark eyes watching them. |

[attr="class","manalishilpost"] Ever since he heard about this year’s Halloween dance, especially after he realized it was going to be on a full moon. He had been working on perfecting a little potion to make this day a good one – he wanted to show her that she was special to him, but he couldn’t do that without making everyone look suspiciously at the couple. It had been hard during classes, just occasionally giving her gentle touches when he had hidden his hand completely with his body. Glances stolen during meals, those special Saturdays when they could just be together. [break][break] It wasn’t enough. He wanted to show her he was wiling to do anything for her. He wanted to show that he loved her more than anything. And so, he had been slaving over this potion for ages now. There had been a few questions towards him during the Saturdays together, but he mostly brushed it off. He could tell she was curious though and he was excited to see her reaction today. [break][break] After taking the potion, which would last until tomorrow morning, he sized himself up in the mirror. Using his wand to make the necessary adjustments to a suit he had owl ordered several weeks ago. It wasn’t a traditional robe – it actually looked somewhat muggle in design. Reducing the size just a bit since the potion had made him shrink an inch or so, he dressed himself and adjusted the look slightly. Waving his wand, his tie tied itself and he ran a hand through his hair. [break][break] It had been a decade since he saw himself like this in the mirror. His arm tensed up for a moment, the one with the mark. When he looked like this, it was a very dark time for him. But now it during a time when he was in love. It was just… different to see him like this. With an actual smile on his face. The ability to smile with this face. [break][break] Making his way out of the dungeons under an invisibility cloak he had borrowed from Dumbledore – not a special one like Potter had, but it was just a simple one that would fade at some point. Sneaking to the Entrance Hall, he found an empty cupboard, uncovered himself, and emerged. Now, where was she? He knew he would easily find her when she arrived, and it took only a few minutes to see her next to her friend. [break][break] Smiling, he slowly walked up behind her, and cleared his throat. “You must be Rose’s friend. Sevastyn Nikolov. I’m sure you’ve heard of me.” He was looking at Rose the entire time, like a puppy in love. His voice had changed slightly in order to adopt to a Bulgarian accent. They had found the punch bowl and she was laughing at something Tonks had said. They hadn't found Charlie (he probably had his nose stuck in a dragon book somewhere). Sad stuff, she really wanted to test out if he was as blind to feminine wiles as Tonks says he was.
Alas, ear wax.
However, a voice, somewhat familiar, came from behind her and she jumped, turning - finding familiar black eyes piercing her gaze, but from a somewhat unfamiliar face.
Heart racing, she looked to Tonks, who was smirking like she'd had the worlds best secret.
"Sevastyn Nikolov," she repeated. "Sev, dare I say?"
Oh, she was quick to pick up.
Tonks suddenly tossed her arm over Rose's shoulders, pulling her tight against her. "And, Sevastyn, who might you be to be calling on my Princess, hm?"

Severus smiled slightly seeing as Tonks picked up quite quickly despite not knowing how he looked back at this age – however, he had specifically picked the name to make it easy for those who knew to know what he had done. It wasn’t a big smile, just a slight upturn of the corners of his mouth.

He reached out to take Rose’s hand, his eyes not leaving her. He didn’t want to ever no look at her. He loved her so much, and they were now in public together. Nervous? Very. He was nervous that one of the students would make the connection as well – but it wouldn’t be that easy to tell. He had changed quite a bit in the decade or so he had aged down.

“Only Rose is allowed to call me that. And only when she is completely, and perfectly, and incandescently happy.” He quickly glanced at Tonks who had that possessive, protective thing he normally saw in her brother’s eyes. However, he didn’t mind it too much. At least she wasn’t hexing him for it.

“She is my girlfriend,” Severus replied curtly with a small nod.

Meanwhile Charlie was sitting in a corner reading a book about dragons. One could see the red head sitting there. Even a girl had come up to him and asked to dance. Unfortunately, he just immediately said no because he was reading. He did say maybe later, but he had something more interesting to do right now. The girl looked offended. That was her own fault. She interrupted him.

Rose was blatently staring. It was so obvious that it was him - or rather, maybe it was just obvious to her. Perhaps she was so used to discerning Tonks in her many guises that whatever Sev had done this time, wasn't much different. Age potion? Perhaps. Some sort of glamour? Also a possibility. Should she be going on about this in her head? Hell no. Her time was limited, her among her peers, as she was.
The charm of the great hall, though it was only early afternoon, has made it seem later than it was, what with the sky motif above her. It still gave her shivers.
She grinned, as Sev took her hand and she looked at Tonks. "It's okay. This one, this one I'm safe with."
Tonks pulled her arm away, smiling, giving 'Sev' a wink. "I know. All right Cinderella, I think I have a Professor to chat up. Not everyone is clever enough to create a disguise for themselves."
"Hey! That's my brother you're talking about!"
Tonks grinned, and with a twirl, left the two to their own devices.
"So," she said, a little breathlessly. "Girlfriend, hm?"
The word... still didn't sound right. She sighed softly. Maybe she just didn't like labels at all.
Okay, that was a lie. She knew one label she would love to have.
Wife.
She linked her fingers with his, smiling. "Are you going to ask me to dance?"
Her eyes shined with seduction.

It took all of his self-control to not grab her and kiss her right here in the middle of the hall. It was just so amazing. He felt freer now that he didn’t need to worry about his job and cover right at this moment. He could just be with her. They could be them.

His eyes continued to follow Rose, though he heard as Tonks left. Severus took her other hand and held them in his. It almost looked like he was a schoolboy in love. In a lot of ways he was a schoolboy in love physically, even if he was older mentally.

Pressing a kiss to her cheek he gave her a big smile, and a squeeze of her hands. “Unless you would prefer me to call you something different, girlfriend is the most apt description, my Rose.” Pecking her lips, he pulls her near him, his arms around her waist. Looking down at her, he took her hands and positioned them around him, and then positioned his own hands in a dancing position.

“Why would I need to ask when I already know your answer?” He began to move his feet, even though they were even on the dance floor.

Rose wasn't quite sure what to do with herself. Under this guise, he had dropped every other barrier he normally placed up. He was deadly flirtatious and it left her feeling as if she had a thousand butterflies in her stomach.
She thought she had already gotten over all of that, but apparently, this version of him set them all a flurry anew. She sighed softly, shaking her head.
"It will have to do. But, you know me and labels."
Wanting more than these gentle kisses, she leaned in, taking his lips in a more passionate embrace.
She could tell people were staring, wondering who this handsome stranger was and why he was dancing with her, the one girl in Hogwarts that never dated and now she was dancing with this foreign student. She could tell McGonagall was calculating exactly what was going on here and by the little knowing smile on her lips and the glance back to Severus' empty chair... well..
He positioned her, in a thrilling dominating way. "I suppose you don't need to ask anything, do you, Sev. You'll always now my answers."
She giggled, pressing herself closer to him, resting her head on his chest.
"Looks like I've gained the limelight again, for a moment," she said this humorously. "I don't date, so this must be a shocker. They must think you a penpal from Durmstang."
She titters, "aren't we a tale of starcrossed lovers, darling? Either Death Eater and One of the Light, or Hogwarts Student and Durmstang Student. Seems the story always follows, no matter what form it takes."
She was speaking softly, her breath against his ear before leaning in and pressing a heated kiss to the underside of his jaw.

Sev chuckled and accepted her passion. He ignored all of the eyes, they were nothing right now. It was her – and while yes, this was all about being able to relax with her in public, their judgement was not something he cared about.

“To be honest, calling you my girlfriend is like saying the Pepper-Up Potion is Bicorn horn. There’s so much more,” He grinned pressing a second passionate kiss to her lips allowing himself to get lost in it for a few moments. Knowing people like McGonagall would be watching, but not caring right now because she knew about it all, he allowed himself to just relax. He wanted to just let it happen. He wanted to show the world that he loved Rose Lupin.

“Are you sure about that? I’m not quite a mind reader, am I?” He knew the answer. Yes, yes, he was. When he wanted to be at least. Which is why he was smiling widely now. Of course, he would never intrude her thoughts without her permission. However, he could if he wanted to and if he was not as good of a person.

“Oh, I would hope I’m more than a penpal,” He teased, holding her close even allowing a hand to drop to her butt. “I thought you disliked labels. Starcrossed, Romeo and Juliet, we’re so much more than that. Let them talk. Let them think whatever they want. This is our night.”

It was a good thing that Tonks went to distract Remus because lord knows what sort of showdown would've happened in the last two minutes. She chuckled to herself, by a glance of the room, Tonks had completely excused herself and Remus from the great hall altogether, probably to perform some tongue acrobatics in the Room of Requirement.
She snickered to herself and then at Sev's comparison. "Ah, yes. So much more, so much more which cannot be contained by useless labeling."
She gave him a look, when he asked if he were a mind reader and she shook her head. "No, not at all. I wouldn't take you for a great legilimens at all."
She was being cheeky, and she knew it. But she couldn't help it. Normally she was a bit more reserved, polite, a side effect of their station, but now he stood before her as her equal and well, sometimes her mouth just got away from her. She may pay for it later.
"Have I told you how handsome you look, by the way? Not that you need telling, cause I know you know."
She gave him a wink. "And yes, much more than a penpal, indeed."
She smirked, pressing herself even closer. "Though, you better watch those hands, at least here in the great hall. McGonagall will not hesitate to hex you.
And I do dislike labels. I'm just musing on how ironic we are."
She nodded, "our night. I assume you'll be spending all night with me then? Or just the human part?"

Severus was very much glad Tonks had gotten Remus out of here – not because he was afraid of being hexed (though that was a very real possibility), but because at least then he didn’t have to worry about him being upset about them being together like this – especially since Remus would definitely recognize him like this. This was the face of the Death Eater he faced in battle before. This was the face of the guy who called his friend that derogatory name. This was also the face Severus’s father hated. The face he hated himself. But it was worth it.

“You know I would never stand to such terrible labelling like that unless I would have to make up a word to describe. And you, my dear, I would have to make up a word to accurately describe everything that makes you, you. I think… Rose Lupin is a fairly accurate label.”

He snickered when she mentioned how she wouldn’t take him as a legilimens. Sarcasm. Every day he fell a little bit more in love with her. Even if it were from anyone else he would likely get annoyed. He liked her in general and therefore found it hilarious. “I’m sure I would be wonderful if I put my mind to it.”

His face turned a bright red when she called him handsome. Coughing slightly, he looked to the side. “I’m not – I’m not handsome.”

“I don’t doubt she would,” He raised his hands to the small of her back. “I apologize. When I’m around you, it is hard to resist. Even for a man of my caliber of control.”

Rose gave a roll of her eyes. "I'd say that's fairly accurate and well given."
She laughed, "you're killing me. 'If you put your mind to it'. Please."
She sighed, but instead of arguing, she caught his lips with hers again. "Well, I think you are if that counts for anything."
His hands rose and she quickly looked at McGonagall who at the moment seemed to be in deep conversation with Professor Sinistra. Perfect.
"No need to apologize, I want your touch, Sev.
I just don't want a repeat of the duelling chamber."
Her brow raised at his mention of 'all night'. Well, at least the stupid trick Sirius pulled on him all those years ago didn't ruin this for her. If it had, She'd eat Sirius tonight for dinner.
Dark thoughts pushed away, she smiled. "For real? All night?"
She looked at her watch, that night-time motif really was throwing her off. Her brain was playing tricks on her on how late it actually was. Still, she was getting really edgy regardless.

“Please what? Should I put my mind to it? Perhaps I could get some lessons. I hear your potions professor is fairly good at it.” He chuckles as his feet move along the floor, a slow dance to the current beat in the area.

His face was still very red when she insisted on his looks. “It counts for everything. It’s been awhile since I was this way. Since a very… dark time of my life.”

With a quick glance at his rival head of house, his hands dropped again and gave her a small squeeze. He gave her a wink and a quick kiss to her cheek.

“I’m sure Minerva would be more… discreet than your brother. Though I’m sure she is just as protective.”

He pressed a kiss to her lips allowing his tongue to explore for a moment before he pulled back, looking at her with a huge smile on his face, brightening up his normally dark face. “For real. I will do anything for you.”

She snorted, shaking her head and then gave a bark of a laugh. "Oh, yes, please. Go learn a thing or two from Professor Snape about the workings of the mind; it would definitely serve you well."
Her hand stroked his face. "Oh, this sounds like a story I haven't heard. You must tell me tonight if you please?"
She followed his eyes to McGonagall before snapping back to his, as his hands dropped again. A soft "oh" escaped her at his touch. Damn, this was worse than the teasing touches during class.
Now they were here in front of everyone, many of her peers, and again, fewer barriers.
Rose gave him a loose impression of his sneer. "She is protective of all her lions, Sev. She will do what she has to do. But other than that, she is the Deputy Headmistress, and any tomfoolery between two students, of age or not, will not happen on her watch.
Though, the thought of tomfoolery with you has my blood rising to unmentionable temps."
She gave him a wink and kissed him again.
"You're not..." obviously that cruel prank was forefront to her mind.
"No one is forcing or blackmailing you to do this?"

No time like the present, a thousand unforeseen circumstances may interrupt you at a future time. “Unfortunate, he doesn’t seem to be here,” Sev waggles his eyebrows at her, “Perhaps he is busy elsewhere. He sounds like an amazing person, powerful wizard indeed. I could learn a lot from him.”

He relaxed his face against her hand. “Perhaps later when there aren’t people to overhear I can tell you more. I’m sure you can guess why this time in my life may have been dark.”

Chuckling he pressed his lips to her cheek roughly. “I suppose as a special guest student here, I should avoid angering the professors.” Even still, his hands were still on her in a position that might make people stare. It was alright – he was sure McGonagall would understand. And he almost wanted to see how she reacted to all of this. He felt younger again – like he was back in school, but happier. How it should’ve been back then. So much wasted time. And to think, he was just waiting for her to grow-up.

“Though I suppose, we’ll just have to go behind her back,” His voice was low and his eyebrows waggled slightly.

He considered for a moment, remembering back to his school time. Frowning he looked at her, placing a hand on her cheek and leaning in, whispering into her ear. “No one can force me to do anything. While yes… I might be… afraid, you’re worth everything.”

She didn't supply him with an answer, other than a slight roll of the eye. Ugh, there she went again, acting her own age. She honestly couldn't help it at the moment. Hilariously he still towered over her, not as much, but he did. But it was much less severe. Is that why her spunk was escaping her? Normally she was known to be rather controlled in her attitude, but geez was he pulling her sass out of her.
"Well yes, it seems he is busy elsewhere. Shame, cause I thought he enjoyed watching students have fun."
She waggled a brow and went in for another kiss.
"I can guess, but I'd rather hear the tale. We have all night. Full moons are good for stories," she smiled softly at him. "I've only had a one-sided account for everything I know about you. It's about time I have it put into perspective. And I've had three sources of that account, but only one of them was respectable."
Her eyes sought out the teachers around them, James and Sirius were having a laugh (and being watched very closely by McGonagall; seems that James and Sirius garnered more of her attention than they. Which was good.). Lily, however, who was standing next to James, drink in hand, was giving her and her partner a curious look. It was a good thing that Sev only had eyes for her tonight, as the reason the sudden passionate kiss was dropped on him at this moment would be lost to him.
Breaking apart from the kiss, Rose's eyes drifted to Lily again, who, A, had a deep scarlet blush on her face, and B, a look of regret. Good. Learn your lesson. Rose tore her gaze away from Lily to turn a smile back on Sev.
"It might have been a dark time in your life, but we can at least put a positive spin to it. We can make happier memories here and now. Not to erase the old, but to overshadow."
She honestly didn't mind the bold and forward position of his hands. She had already shown her sense of possessiveness towards him already if he felt the same, it was fine. They were both consenting adults and that's all that mattered. Though, tomorrow, she felt that she was going to get ten thousand questions from her housemates. For once they would pay attention to her and she wouldn't be able to talk. Sucks for them.
"Go behind her back? Hm, I think I may know of a classroom that may be empty at this current time."
She smirks at him. She would leave it up to him if he wanted to remain postulating in front of his peers or to steal her away for the remainder of her human time. She wouldn't be as fun or interesting once she switched and plus... it would be nice to spend it in front of a fire. She normally just hid under her covers in her bed. Alone.
Tonight would be different. Tonight is a stepping stone.
She smiles softly at him, pressing a kiss to his cheek. "Thank you for your trust. I won't hurt you. I promise. I know I won't."
She gave a look at her watch. Remus would be pushing Tonks away soon. That bloody idiot. Poor girl. She loves him so much. But he's still unstable. Remus is gonna be pissed though that the first person to spend my full moon with me is Snape. Rose gave a heavy sigh, leaning into Sev and his embrace.
