She sat in a chair before McGonagall, looking, awkward at best.
She hadn't really a plan on how to tell her head of house that she needed to go home, as soon as possible, for just a few short hours, to talk to her parents. Yet when she had requested it, McGonagall gave a knowing look and nodded.
The knowing look had surprised her. She was McGonagall and this woman scarily knew everything. She was also her head of house, Mama Cat, Rose like to call her. She seemed to know just about everything about her students. Rose really wanted to inquire if McGonagall knew. If only because the knowledge would be some sort of comfort, that even if something disastrous happened. McGonagall would have her back.
Minerva would probably have her back regardless. She was the sister of her favourite of the Marauders, of course. Rose knew that all four of them held a special place in her heart, but Remus, Remus was the most special. When Rose had her first moon at Hogwarts, McGonagall has visited her first thing the next morning, sitting in a chair by her bed, waiting until she had woken up. Rose had been given a great startle, seeing her head of house there. But that day forward, it had always been the same.
'Good Morning, Minnie.'
'Good Morning, Miss Lupin, feeling all right?'
Rose smiled at the memory. SHe was starting to get those bittersweet feelings, knowing that her chapter her at Hogwarts was coming to an end. Seven years went way too fast for her. Maybe even McGonagall felt that.
McGonagall reentered the room, she had gone to get the permission from Dumbledore, of course. She was smiling softly.
"You have a four-hour window, Miss Lupin. The path will open in ten minutes."
Rose stood, smiling, "thanks, Minnie. I... I really appreciate this, being last minute and all."
McGonagall gave that knowing smile again. "Yes, I can see why you must speak to your parents so quickly. Wouldn't want things to progress so far without this knowing, hm?"
Rose's eyes narrowed and she laughed, "you know, don't you?"
McGonagall chuckled softly, "Miss Lupin, I watch over all my students. But the most tell-tale sign was Severus' slight change in demeanour against my Gryffindors. He is still very strict on them, but I have been getting fewer complaints of Severus being unfair. Which, I believe, Severus has never been unfair so to speak. But when you're a child, Severus' demeanour can be very challenging to deal with."
McGonagall smiled, "but of course I know."
Rose shifted, "and you're just... letting it happen?"
McGonagall had continued to smile, "you are an adult, Miss Lupin. Had this transpired before your seventeenth birthday, I would have intervened and had a stern talking to with Severus as well. But please keep in mind that you should probably keep this out of the eye of the other students. I'm sure you two can be responsible for yourselves."
Rose gave a grin and nodded, "but of course, Minnie. Wouldn't dream of destroying Sev's reputation as the scary potions master."
Rose snickered, "though, if any of our plans for after the summer work out, I don't know how long that reputation will stand anyway."
McGonagall was smiling kindly and gave a sniff. "Already talking about the future? My, I didn't know how much you've grown until now."
Rose shifted again, "I mean. I... the future, you know; it was uncertain. At least now I have an idea, a few options. It's not... I would rather; I mean..." A sigh. "You know I was working so hard to be able to go into the Auror training, but there is no way, not until werewolf rights laws are changed. But at least now... I have a place to be, a purpose.... and I might not be the only Lupin you'll see on a regular basis."
McGonagall chuckled, "I will take the Lupins, Black and Potter, however, have caused me as much stress in these last two weeks as they did their entire seven years here at Hogwarts. I don't even know how that's possible, but they have."
Rose snickered, "maybe because instead of actually teaching their students, they're showing off? I thought Potter had grown out of it."
McGonagall sighed, "his reputation precedes him, it seems."
Rose shook her head, "I feel for you, Minnie, I really do."
She smiled, "seems like the Lupins are the only ones that do."
The fire behind Rose sprung to life, signalling it was time to go. Rose turns towards it, sighing. "Wish me luck Mama Cat. I'm going to need it. Remus took forever to talk down."
A grin from McGonagall, "you'll be fine. Now go. Four hours, remember."
Rose nodded, stepping through the fire, and into her parents living room. She shook the soot and ash out of her air, and looked up, seeing her mother. She grinned flying into her mother's arms and hugging her.
"You look well darling, what is the meaning of this visit?"
A nervous but proud smile, "I have news!"
"You're not pregnant are you?"
Rose stared, mouth agape, flushing. "Mom it's been two weeks! Who do you take me as? I haven't even had a boyfriend!"
Her mother looked at her, "up until now?"
Again, she stood there speechless, "how am I so easy to read?"
"Remus wrote," her mother said with a grin. "Luckily I was the only one at home. I expected this to come soon enough."
Rose groaned, "of course Remus wrote, that tattle tale! Well, I suppose I can save you the boring details then? How do you think dad is going to take it? I nearly had to glue Remus to his chair."
Ameile grinned, "hmm, I don't think we'll have to go that far with your father. Remus just has a flair for things. And I might've had a chat with your father beforehand."
"Oh, thank god. He's not like.. I don't know... gonna hex Sev into next week is he?"
Her mother chuckled, "you're an adult sweetheart, your father knows this. He's concerned, but he can't be too judgemental. He really doesn't have a leg to stand own. But he's proud that you're coming to us and telling us."
Her mother ran a hand through her hair, smiling softly. "Come now, he's in the kitchen. I've made tea, and something to eat while we chat."

"So... yeah," concluded Rose, detailing the last two weeks. The Saturday lessons. All of it. "I.. didn't realize this was going to be this easy. I thought you were gonna have a heart attack dad, Remus nearly did."
Lyall sighed, "I know of Remus' history with that boy. He and his friends were not very kind to him at all. I knew I didn't have to worry about you, darling. You have never held a prejudiced bone in your body. You've gotten along with anyone you've come across, it's a no wonder Severus Snape would fall to your charm as well. Even with your name preceding you.
However, I do worry because he is of a... questionable background. But, since Dumbledore trusts him, I can't help but trust Dumbledore's opinion. I do implore you to be careful, though."
Rose smirked, "Sev won't hurt me."
Her parents looked at each other and grinned, "ah, I remember being young and in love." Began her mother, looking at Lyall. "It was so electric. I couldn't get enough of him. I still can't."
Rose giggled, pulling a face. "Bleh, mom!"
Ameile smiled, "I'm sure you feel the same."
Rose blushed darkly. "I mean..."
Lyall chuckled, "I assume you'll be inviting him for Christmas?
Rose's eye sparkled. "Of course! I still don't know if Remus will come. But he might. Just to keep an eye on me."
Her mother laughed, "speaking of Remus, he says he's met someone too?"
Rose busted out laughing, "he didn't detail much did he?"
They shook their heads. Rose giggled again, "it's Tonks. She was at the Leaky Cauldron. Her parents had set her up there before the train and he was there eating pizza like the crazy muggle he is and apparently, she invited him to play pool!"
Rose sobered, "and they've been back and forth since. After Remus' bright idea to duel Sev - which was just him just trying to scare Sev off, didn't work very well, of course - I brought her to the Hospital wing with me. That had been their first "real" meeting. I ain't gonna lie, they're adorable. And she's very good about distracting him from Sev and me and he's not trying to kill Sev."
Lyall smiled, "I'm glad he's... starting to forgive himself."
Rose smiled, "it's a long hard journey, but he's getting there. Now, since this chat went much smoother than I could of imagined, I think I'll raid my closet. I was not prepared for this sort of situation. I thought it was going to be like any other year."
Ameile smiled, "all right, darling, you let us know if you need anything."
Rose smiled, heading towards the stairs, "of course, mom."

Safe to say, her room was a mess again and she had no time to fix it. Her parents have a charm on the house making magic completely unusable in her room. Not to mention the many other charms that are used during her full moons. Her entire closet was spread out between her floor and bed. She would barely have time to pick up stuff and just neatly put the things she left behind on her bed.
She had chosen a few dresses and a couple more pairs of shoes, that she believed Sev would like and headed back down to her parents so they could pack, shrink and put the items away in her bag. Shrinking charms were the best! She had also grabbed her favourite bottle of perfume. She normally didn't bring this. But this year was special.
"Okay, it was a hard decision. But I managed. I thought I was going to have to wait till Christmas before I was going to be able to grab date night options."
Ameile giggled, "date night?"
Rose shook her head, blushing. "Er, I mean. You know. Any time I'm with him is date night. So..."
Ameile smiled, "ah, young love."
Rose shook her head, "no, just love."
Ameile looked to her daughter, eyebrow raised, "two weeks and already that serious?"
Rose sighed, "werewolves have to be serious about finding their partners, mom. You know this. Severus just... make it so easy." She began ticking things off. "I didn't have that awkwardness of having to tell him, because he was already told. He doesn't care. He's the only person I've met to date that I don't fear will abandon me if things get rough. Besides Tonks, of course. He loves me for me, my condition included, but it's not a game changer at all. He was well aware of my condition before we started to get to know each other. It was my charm that got him, of course."
Her mother smiled, "of course. He sounds like he makes you very happy."
"Deliriously," Rose said in a breath. "He's... he's absolutely amazing."
Ameile smiled softly again, "all right. You're all set to go."
"Four hours pass way too quickly," she gave her mother a hug. "Tell dad I love him when he gets home. I'll miss you two. But only a few more months and then you'll have me until well, I don't know."
Ameile grinned, "I think you'll only be staying a short time with us this summer, darling. Your life I think will have a pleasant change."
Rose hummed. "You think?"
Ameile shook her head, "I just know. Work hard, my daughter, my love. Make that man of yours continually proud. And try not to ruffle your brother's feathers too much."
"Hey, it's not my fault they're easily ruffled! He's a giant drama queen, okay?"
Ameile shook her head, throwing the floor powder into the fire. "give McGonagall my love, yes?"
"Of course mom, see you at Christmas!"
With that, Rose stepped back through the fire, into McGonagall's office.
"Everything go well?" came McGonagall's voice.
Rose smiled shaking the soot and ash out of her hair once again.
"Better than I could ever imagine."
