[attr="class","manalishilpost"] Remus paced near the door, wondering if this was the right thing to do. She was his sister – but did that mean he had the right to interfere in her life? All he wanted was answers to what was going on. Through the grapevine he had heard of an arrangement where Rose would be spending her Saturdays with Professor Snape, though he didn’t know why. And that was all he wanted to know – why was she spending so much time with Snape? Perhaps it was because of his old prejudices towards the man, they did not get along in school, though Remus felt guilty and responsible for that. [break][break] Pausing, just about to knock on the office door, the door suddenly opened and there stood the taller male. Remus swallowed looking up at him and let out a nervous chuckle. However, Severus did not look amused. [break][break] “I was wondering when you would finally knock. Unfortunately, I ran out of patience.” [break][break] Of course, Severus already knew he was here. Remus wasn’t sure how, but he suspected it had to do with his pacing and Severus’s uncanny sense of the school in general. Slightly startled, Remus took a moment to compose himself looking to the Potions Master. [break][break] “Contrary to popular belief, I have very important business to attend to, so if you could pick up your jaw from the ground and stop wasting my time, I would like to get this over with.” [break][break] Right. He was wasting time. He needed to get this over with – he didn’t want to stay here any longer than he had to. Remus cleared his throat and straightened his suit jacket looking to his peer with a small smile. [break][break] “Not even inviting me in for a cuppa?” Remus grinned running a hand through his hair. Severus did not look amused and simply stared at him for a few moments, before moving out of the doorway, gesturing for Remus to enter his office. [break][break] It wasn’t as drab as one might expect. There was a jet black desk with several stacks of papers on it, along with a quill of course. There were shelves with various potion ingredients along the walls. It was full, but not cluttered and everything was neatly organized. Severus took a seat in a black wooden chair behind the desk, flicking his wand as a bottle of butterbeer flew in, pouring a glass and setting itself on the other side of the desk from Severus. [break][break] Remus nervously entered the office, taking a seat opposite from Severus and taking a sip of the offered drink. “So, Severus…” He paused and leaned forward in his seat, having not thought of how to word this delicately so no one was offended by his inquiry. “I hear you’re… meeting up with my sister during the weekends.” [break][break] Severus raised an eyebrow. It was hard to tell what Severus was thinking, and Remus was very nervous as to exactly how this would turn out – if it were like they were at school, he’d probably be banished from his office, but to Remus’s surprise, Severus chuckled lightly. [break][break] “If you’re worried your precious sister is failing my class –” [break][break] “That’s not it. I know she’s doing well, so I can’t think of any reason she would need to have extra classes with you.” [break][break] Severus paused for a few moments and studied Lupin. Silence fell between the two for a moment, Remus wondering if he had offended him by interrupting him. However, after a few moments he spoke finally. [break][break] “Why not ask her yourself?” [break][break] Remus frowned. Well, he didn’t expect a straight answer out of him, but he hoped that at least he would provide some sort of context. There were a lot of things he thought it could be – perhaps Snape was torturing her, or was being a little too nice to her during their free time… it didn’t occur to him that she would be taking extra lessons for a certain potion… [break][break] “I’m asking you as a peer. I’m her older brother. She wouldn’t tell me as much as she wouldn’t tell our parents.” [break][break] Severus looked ever so slightly amused as he regarded Lupin. As if he were about to burst out laughing, but because he was very much in control, that didn’t happen. Why was he being so tight lipped about it? What sort of something would he want to keep secret? There were so many questions floating around in Lupin’s head, he wasn’t sure what to even think anymore. [break][break] “If she does not wish you to know, then who am I to tell you?” His lips curled into a satisfied smile. It wasn’t like they were doing anything he should worry about either – but it was wonderful watching him squirm like this. [break][break] “Just – please tell me one thing: should I be worried?” [break][break] Severus considered for a few moments, his sadistic smile not fading whatsoever. There were many ways he could go about this – he could continue to let him squirm or just let him know it wasn’t anything to really worry about. Then again, the potion was difficult and could cause… unintended side effects when brewing if not done perfectly. [break][break] Snape stood up and walked to the door, opening it and looking to Remus as if to say ‘we’re done here’. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.” He raised his eyebrows and shook his head, playing dumb. Remus looked a little bit angry at this, but he stood up, leaving his mostly full glass of butterbeer on the desk and headed towards the door. [break][break] “If I hear that you’ve laid a finger on her –“ [break][break] “Are you threatening me, Lupin?” [break][break] Remus paused, looking to him with a serious look. “What if I am?” [break][break] “Well, it would be a shame if I didn’t quite brew your potion correctly… or brew enough for the pair of you. After all, I am used to only brewing for one werewolf… to switch to two…” His eyes flickered with a sadistic flair, taking much joy in seeing the man before him squirm. [break][break] “You wouldn’t.” Remus said this, but he also knew not to take threats from the one brewing a potion for you lightly. He swallowed and took a step out of the office, turning on his foot and looking towards Severus. “If you hurt her, I won’t care about what you’ve done or are willing to do for me. I will hunt you down and make you wish you never met her.” [break][break] Severus’s nose flared up slightly, as if he were a dragon ready to breath fire at the werewolf. His mouth formed into an ‘O’, pausing for a moment before he spoke, stretching his words out, stressing each syllable. “Out. Get. Out. Now.” [break][break] “I am out.” Remus gestures to his feet which were indeed not inside of the office. The door quickly slammed right into his face and Remus sighed, covering his face ashamed. “Damn it Remus, you’re such an idiot.” [attr="class","manalishirnote"] [attr="class","manalishirnote1"]EXTRA NOTES [attr="class","manalishirnote2"] [attr="class","manalishirnote3"] [attr="class","manalishirnote4"] [attr="class","manalishirnote5"] N/A | [attr="class","manalishir"] [attr="class","manalishirimg2"] [attr="class","manalishirimg"] [attr="class","manalishir2"] [attr="class","redd1"]# [attr="class","manalishir4"] [attr="class","redd1"]@ @me |
